A football franchise game where your coaching career keeps going

I've always been a franchise mode guy, and this is the part of a football franchise game I care about most. A season ends, the draft comes, and you go again. The players you drafted as rookies get older on your team, and the record you build follows you wherever you coach.

Your head coach

This is a football career simulator from the coaching side. You create your own head coach, man or woman, and your football coaching career starts there. Every job you take and every season you coach goes on your record, and that record follows you from club to club.

Sideline Legacy coaching tree: a table of every head coach in the football league, the club and where each came from. Your coach, Robin Ashgrove, now coaches the Palisade City Thunderheads after a season with the Ironwood Flats Tidebreakers.

A football dynasty, season after season

Standings, playoff runs and player stats stay on the record year after year, and the news remembers what you did. Keep winning long enough and people start calling it a dynasty. The league keeps its own history book too, with the record book, awards and milestones, and a Hall of Fame.

Awards and the year-end look back

When the season's over, you get a look back at the year your team had, and the league hands out its awards. The best seasons end up in the record book.

Your job won't last forever. Teams make offers and jobs open up and close. If you get fired, you can see where you stand, go after the jobs that are open and get back on a sideline. If you'd rather never get fired, you can turn that off.

Your players' stories

Every player you draft has a story you can follow from draft night on. Some of them never pan out. Some of them turn into the guy you can't picture your team without, and you keep paying him until he finally retires. If his career was good enough, he ends up in the Hall of Fame. The news covers your team, your press conferences and your results along the way.

Clubs with an identity

Every club in the league has its own city, colors, emblem, uniforms and stadium. Taking a new job means taking on a whole new place.

Quick answers

Do I play as one player?

No. You're the head coach the whole way, and you never control a player on the field.

Can I get fired?

Yes, unless you turn on the option that keeps your job safe.

Is there a final season?

No. There's no last season and nobody forces you to retire. The years keep rolling, and your career lasts as long as you can keep a job.
